Grammy® Award-Nominated Music Maker, Keyboardist, Buddha-Bar Recording Artist

Armen Chakmakian’s professional recording career began in 1991 when he joined the GRAMMY® Award-winning band, Shadowfax as their keyboardist. He co-wrote the music for three of the band’s albums including Esperanto which earned him his own GRAMMY® Award Nomination as Best New Age Album of 1992.  Following Shadowfax, Armen displayed his signature style of World Fusion blending indigenous Armenian and Arabic influences with contemporary jazz, and world elements with the release of his debut album, Ceremonies, featuring the tracks Gypsy Rain and Distant Lands which also appear on the hit compilation BUDDHA-BAR series.  A prolific composer, Armen also composes for television and film and has toured and performed with Cirque du Soleil, Supertramp founder Roger Hodgson and Sophie B. Hawkins.
